Who we are

A small operator working the short-sea lanes

CargoSea Freight is the trading name of CARGO DYNAMIC LTD, a coastal container feeder business. We carry twenty and forty foot boxes between UK ports and the near continent, working the legs that deep-sea lines would rather leave to someone else. Feeder work is not glamorous. It is a box, a berth, a berth window and a sailing that has to leave when it says it will.

Our niche is deliberately narrow. We handle coastal feeds, short-sea crossings and the relay legs that connect a regional port to a bigger hub. A shipper in Teesport with a box bound for Rotterdam, or a forwarder in Grangemouth who needs empties repositioned, is squarely our kind of job. Deep-sea ocean carriage, air freight and long-haul road haulage are not.

The day-to-day is booking slots, matching cargo to the vessels we have fixed, and keeping paperwork in step with the physical movement. That means checking cut-offs before we confirm anything, watching weather and port congestion, and telling customers early when a sailing looks tight. A late call to a customer is far better than a surprise at the terminal gate.

CARGO DYNAMIC LTD is an independent company with no parent line behind it, so we choose partners by route, not by ownership. Where a sailing suits a customer better than our own, we will say so and help arrange it. Reputation in short-sea is built on the last five jobs, not the last five years.

Most of our customers ship the same lanes repeatedly: distillery and food exporters, chemical producers needing drums and IBCs moved safely, and hauliers who want a container cleared on the quay rather than sitting. We quote per box with handling and port charges itemised, so the invoice matches what you were told.

What we don't take

We do not take deep-sea ocean bookings, so a box coming from Asia or the Americas is handled through the line that owns that service, not through us.
Air freight and short-notice air charter enquiries are declined, because our people are set up for sea legs and quay work rather than airport cut-offs.
Anything classed as dangerous goods needing a full IMDG declaration is out of scope; we carry drums and IBCs only under standard short-sea terms.
We will not quote a firm sailing date for cargo that has not cleared customs, since a held box would simply take a berth slot we cannot give back.
