Background
How CargoSea Freight runs feeder connections between UK and near continent ports
CargoSea Freight is the trading name of CARGO DYNAMIC LTD. We arrange coastal container feeder movements for importers, exporters and freight forwarders who need boxes shifted between regional ports and the larger deep-sea terminals. Our work sits between the mainline carrier and the road haulier, filling the gap when a direct call is not available or not economical.
We charter and part-charter small container vessels in the 500 to 1,500 TEU range. That size suits the UK coast, the Irish Sea and short crossings to Rotterdam, Antwerp and Le Havre. It also means we can call at ports that larger ships pass by, such as Grangemouth, Belfast and Bristol.
Bookings are handled by a small operations team based in the UK. Each booking is checked against the vessel's capacity, the port's crane and berth limits, and the receiving terminal's cut-off. If something does not line up, we say so before we confirm, rather than after the box is on the quay.
On the water, the master and the vessel's operator run the ship. On land, we coordinate with the terminal, the haulier and the line's agent so that the container is discharged, cleared and moved on without sitting idle. Most of our work is repeat business from forwarders who want a straightforward feeder option.
We do not claim to be the largest or the fastest. We aim to be clear about what we can carry, when we can carry it and what it will cost. If a route or a cargo is outside our scope, we will point you to someone who handles it.
Rates are quoted per container and include the sea leg, terminal handling at both ends and the documentation we issue. Road haulage, customs clearance and any storage at the port are separate and arranged by you or through your agent unless we agree otherwise in writing.
